In 2020, City Church will be returning to San Salvador, the capital and largest city in El Salvador for a service-oriented trip. We will be working with Mission to El Salvador, an organization that works with street children, the homeless, the addicted, and the trafficked.
We are hosting an informal INFORMATION SESSION on Sunday, July 28 and Sunday, August 11 after the worship service. Interest parties should gather in the kitchen.
El Salvador is a beautiful country, but it is also a country that has suffered. A brutal 12 year civil war left many scars and the country continues to struggle with violence, crime, and poverty. Jon and Danielle Snyder founded Mission to El Salvador in 2009 and it has since grown to include a team of people invested in serving those in need in El Salvador.
MISSION: We are on a mission to be a “hands-on” non-governmental organization working in the heart of San Salvador serving those who are deeply affected by the cycle of abject poverty. Our holistic approach creates sustainable projects which address the physical, spiritual, and mental needs of those most vulnerable to the defeating consequences of poverty. Steeped in relationship building and community engagement, our team works to discover and address core issues of inner-city poverty in order to restore dignity and safety to hurting and exploited Salvadorans.
Service teams participate in a variety of projects including service to the homeless, construction projects, and ministry to children at risk. Our teams stay at our Guesthouse.
